Avoid Passport Perils! Are You Going to Forget These Important Documents on Your Next Holiday?

When you’re in a foreign land, you’ll need to take some important documents with you. These documents, will serve a variety of purposes, some making sure you get medical cover, and some making sure you can get on a plane. Whatever the document, if it’s important in its nature, you’ll want to make sure you’ve taken the right steps in order to make sure you’ve got them, but also that you’ve got copies just in case something goes wrong. So what should you be paying attention to when it comes important documents and information, and what should you do with any copies you have?

Passport

The more obvious item on this list, your passport is of high importance. Though it’s not likely to happen if you’re careful, there is a chance that your passport could go missing. It’s therefore a good idea to take some pictures of your passport using your phone, but also to take a few photocopies. This will help you recover should you lose your passport. If you do lose your passport, you’ll want to go to your country’s embassy to see what they can do for you. By showing them copies of your passport, you’ll be able to speed up the process.

Medical Info

If you’ve taken out travel insurance, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got your documents photocopied. Always keep your medical documents near at hand, should you be in need of urgent medical care. If you have an European Health Insurance Card, make sure you keep that on you at all times.

In addition to this, you’ll also want to make sure you’ve got something that has information related to any pre-existing health conditions you might have, as well as any allergies. By having this information near by, you’ll be able to stop yourself from becoming even more ill, should you need to be treated in an emergency. If you can, try and keep the contact details of your existing doctor near by too, so they can be reached, should the foreign doctors need to find out something.

It might also be a good idea to ensure that you’ve got a copy of this information in the local language, as well as in english. This will help doctors interpret the information accurately, should they need to.

Bank and Credit Info

Whilst you’re on holiday, you might lose your credit card, or it could break. Therefore, think about keeping the contact details of your bank nearby, so you can get replacement cards in a hurry. Having the contact details of your bank, will also let you place a block on any cards you have, protecting you from fraud or crime, should they be stolen.

Acting Before Disaster Strikes

Disaster can strike when you least expect it to. Though if you’re on holiday, and disaster strikes, the situation can be made worse if you don’t have the right information at hand to help deal with a crisis. By knowing what information counts, and what can be done to mitigate losses of such information, you’ll be able to relax and search for some villas in tenerife to rent, knowing you’ll be able to recover should anything bad happen to you whilst you’re out there.

Now sit back, relax and enjoy your holiday!
