A Highlight Reel of China

A Highlight Reel of China

China is a sprawling and behemoth country. Historians and school kids will tell you that China is the most densely populated country in the world. The statistics become even more daunting when you realize the country is composed of roughly 10 million square miles. In other words, when a novice traveller takes a look at China as a possible holiday destination, they have a tendency to see these glaring facts and run in the opposite direction. If you thought travelling through Western Europe was stressful and exhaustive, how are you going to be able to tackle Beijing, Shanghai and the Gobi Desert? Without reading or understanding Chinese, how are you going to plan the logistics to get from one end of China to the other? Nobody is trying to burst your pro-traveller bubble, but you are not going to be able to do it. This is when a luxury tour enters the picture.

Learning to Love the Luxury Tour

There are those of you out there, and you know who you are, who hate the idea of a travel tour. You want to see a foreign country on your own terms and not be constricted with rigid time frames and itineraries. Perhaps you are the same people who never pull over and ask for directions when you are lost in the English countryside. However, if you thought the English countryside was difficult to navigate, you are going to be in for a world of hurt in Shanghai or Beijing. Tour groups exist so you do not have to be culturally fatigued. When someone else does the planning, all you need to do is sit back and enjoy.

The Highlights of China

Most luxury tours of China include stops in ancient Beijing and modern Shanghai. In fact, you might find yourself flying into one city and flying out of the other. Kinetic and hypermodern, the best way to get around the bustling streets and markets of Shanghai is to take a rickshaw tour. Beijing, on the other hand, is more traditional, and this is best illustrated by The Forbidden City. The ancient, dynastic palace is one of Beijing’s most world-renowned attractions.  Can you really see the Great Wall of China from outer space? Unless you blast off on your next holiday on some type of rocket tour of the heavens, you probably will never be able to answer that question. However, every luxury tour of China is going to stop at this historic and cultural landmark. Dating back 2000 years, the Great Wall is China’s penultimate tourist attraction. Space tourism might be the wave of the future, but today it is time to learn to love the luxury tour.

Things to Consider When Traveling in China

When you travel in China, you should consider the following issues: First of all, make sure you understand the langage or have somebody who does to help you. Also, be aware that many foreign websites are blocked in China, and you might want to use a VPN for China to bypass this kind of blocking. In addition, safety is always a concern. If you are invlolved in any dangerous situtation, call the local policy for help.
