Known for Nightlife: 5 U.S. Cities That Dance Until the Sunrise

World-class DJs, nightclubs with character, crowded dance floors -- they're the main ingredients to the best recipe for a party that continues well past the break of dawn. Although not everyone is made for or interested in the nightlife scene, many flock to it to let go of their inhibitions and get lost in the music.

Here are five of the best places to live that use the sunrise as an excuse to keep dancing and partying.

Miami, Fla.

In addition to being home to the Winter Music Conference, Miami has a nightlife scene that pulsates as much as the bodies it attracts to its world-class venues and dance floors. Club Space, located in downtown Miami, is the only venue in the city that has a 24-hour liquor license. Although the club only opens one night a week – Saturday – the DJs who play there are known for doing so until the following Sunday afternoon. Other famous venues include LIV and Story, which are both located on Miami Beach.

New York City, N.Y.

It's no surprise the self-proclaimed city that never sleeps has a selection of world-class nightclubs that know how to throw a party and do it into the morning hours of the next day. Although Sankeys and Verboten close their doors at 5 a.m., Output and Pacha keep their parties in full swing until at least 7 a.m. – if not later. No matter whether you're in the mood for melodic house or hard-hitting techno, these clubs will cater to your musical preferences and give you a nightlife experience worth the cover charge and bar tab.

Las Vegas, Nev.

Considering it's a giant playground for adults who eat, breath, and sleep partying during their stay in Sin City, it shouldn't shock you that Las Vegas has a thriving nightlife scene that includes some of the best nightclubs in the world. XS, Marquee, and TAO top the list, all offering variations of dance music and club elements. However, Drai's Afterhours Club puts them all to shame as far as staying open longer. People who two-step into this 13,000-square-foot space can stay moving on the dance floor until 9 a.m.

Chicago, Ill.

Although it's not as glamorous as the other cities on the list, Chicago features a nightclub that made it onto DJ Mag's Top 100 list. The Mid, ranked 58th, is both a live music venue and world-class nightclub. With a beautiful view of the downtown skyline, dark wood floors, and plenty of great spaces to sit or dance, it's become the go-to spot for people in Chicago who want to party until the sun comes up.

Los Angeles, Calif.

While people at Club Space in Miami are dancing at 9 a.m. on Sunday, those at Exchange in Los Angeles are experiencing sunrise and still breaking a sweat on the dance floor. This massive venue has four floors spanning 25,000 feet, accommodating up to 1,500 party goers. With a Funktion One sound system, an LED screen display that features more than 1.25 million bulbs, and state-of-the-art cryogenics, you'll have more than enough to satisfy your party needs in the morning hours.
